The WVLT Presents a History of Rosendale Natural Cement with Henry Lowengard

Henry Lowengard

President of the Board of Trustees, Century House Historical Society

Hear the history of Rosendale Natural Cement, how it was discovered, created a vast industry and the town of Rosendale, and what happened to all that industry.

Kingston resident Henry Lowengard was an audience member member at shows in the Widow Jane Mine, started volunteering as the webmaster of centuryhouse.org, joined the board in 2014, and became the board president in 2018. Since then, he's been docenting the Century House Museum, running box office and publicity operations and doing much more volunteering at the Society's Snyder Estate. You may also know him as a performer in the Catskill Mountain Gamelan and the band Mamalama, both of which play concerts in the Widow Jane Mine, and also as a writer of iPhone synthesizer apps.

The CHHS is a member of the History Alliance of Kingston, a partnership of local historical organizations and individual historians.
